Becoming Lifelong Learner

Adaptability is important in 21st century — if not on the whole of our human living lifetime. One’s ability to adapt with the future will be lies in how one’s performance in learning. Becoming a lifelong learner will give you an advantage. With the flourishing content under the domain of Online Learning, people can extent their study beyond schooling ages (Prof. dari NUS)

The idea of this post is the how to integrate learning in our career path. I writing this also to get more in my further studies.

Creating your own curriculum might be an important skill. There are different ways of accomplishing between MOOC and traditional college. People need to gather required course and allocate their free time.

The question become: Where your learning will make you money? Learning spans larger than one’s income source. It is an overarching construct about what one can do in their lifetime.

Personalization

One of the advantages of MOOC from traditional course is it can be highly personalized. You can take any course from any institution that are available online, doing it in your own time and place. Is MOOC becoming a commons? It is a question I need to ask to economist. Public goods tends to deteriorate much faster than privately own goods, a phenomenon widely known as “Tragedy of the Commons”.

Due to the pandemic, things will get even more complex in the coming future. Personally I need to rearrange my graduate degree plan for another year. Highly-educated people will get unemployed, new mode of working will emerge from this interaction.

My own experience with Online Learning start in 2015. I join Data Science course in Coursera from John Hopkins University. Does completion rate really matters? Now I’m applying near-sporadically into any subject that seems interesting to me. In edX alone
